Best Ever Crumble Topping!
This is not a small claim it being the Best Ever Crumble Topping recipe! This recipe gives the perfect crunchy, flapjack like topping. It's a much loved family pleaser, whatever the season and whatever fruit we use! Using our rapeseed oil means no rubbing in butter with flour and oats, so takes minutes to make. All so much quicker to get your crumble on the table.
120ml Yorkshire Rapeseed Oil
100g porridge oats
175g plain flour
150g caster sugar
1tsp ground cinnamon or ground ginger (depending on the fruit choice and personal taste)
100g golden syrup
1kg seasonal fruit - whatever is to hand! We tend to use a mix of eating apples (chopped), blueberries and raspberries
Preheat the oven to 190C / gas mark 5.
Place the fruit in an oven dish and make the crumble topping by mixing all the crumble ingredients together and then place on top of the fruit.
Cook for 30-40 minutes until the top is crunchy.
Our Tip - Try our Deli Oil with Ginger as an alternative to our natural rapeseed oil. Particularly good with a plum crumble.
