MAKING A DIFFERENCE - OUR CHARITY SUPPORT

Over the years we’ve had many requests to support charities, near and far, and it’s always been difficult to support each and every deserving cause. So back in 2017 we decided that it would be beneficial all round to fundraise for a local charity for a year. We were looking to enjoy a closer connection with a charity in our community, and also see up close the good work we were helping to fund.
In 2019 we were looking to be inspired by a new charity, and decided to let our fabulous followers decide on a local Yorkshire charity. We shared our search on our social feeds, and were inundated with suggestions. We took the most voted charities and then put the final count back out to our followers. The support was overwhelming, and this worked perfectly for us for some time.
Finding our charities through our followers has enabled us to work with very local and fabulous charities. Life For a Kid Foundation among many things provided sensory rooms and the use of a therapy dog for disadvantaged children in Hull and the East Riding; another, Downright Special supported children with Down syndrome, again in Hull. We fundraised for the latter for two years, all through lockdown. In 2022, we received an overwhelming number of votes for Ryedale Special Families, who provide support in many ways to over 350 families throughout the Ryedale area. Each charity has brought great joy and help to a huge number of people in our community.
Our latest charity was chosen by our very own team! And we were delighted that one of our team members chose HOPING York. Gemma had a good friend who volunteered for the charity, and she heard first-hand of the amazing work volunteers were doing each week to serve freshly made, home-cooked meals to the homeless and those in food poverty in the York area.

It was our team who got involved putting on their boots to raise funds with a team walking challenge! Our team set off on a farm-to-farm walk from here at Thixendale to Wold Top Brewery, a 31 mile on the stunning Yorkshire Wolds Way. Some of the team completed the 31 miles, with others walking from 8 miles to 18 miles, with the end goal of meeting at the Brewery at the end of the day for a well-earned pint (or two!). We hoped to fundraise £3000, but the generous donations smashed that!
Over the years one other fundraising goal we make is to produce a new Limited Edition product. We get our new product development team to look at a seasonal offering, that we know will delight our customers! Whether that is a new oil, dressing or mayonnaise, we really enjoy creating and sharing something new! This product will join our range, but once it’s gone, it’s gone! With 35p of the proceeds from each sale donated to directly support our Charity of the Year, we can’t recommend you trying them whilst you can.

Our current Limited Edition is a Lemon & Caper Dressing, which is perfect for summer. Full of zesty flavour, perfectly balanced with sweetness from Yorkshire honey, and salty flavours from the capers. It’s a real win-win getting your hands on this bottle.
We’re proud to have supported a diverse range of charities over the years, addressing local needs and making a difference. And it has proved to be of such tangible benefit to us, the charity, and our fantastic team, who are always behind every fundraising effort we make.
