Market Update

Firstly, I would like to wish you all a very Happy New Year even though it is a little late, being February already.

Setting out early in the mornings has also confirmed that the sun is now making its way north along the ecliptic and in doing so the days are starting to get longer. In addition, I don’t know whether it’s just me, but the days are also getting warmer. Well after the minus 8°C registered at York market before Christmas they really can’t get any cooler……. or can they!

Speaking of York Market, please note that this month it has been moved to 18-Feb due to the Viking Festival. The March market will be held on its normal day.

Since last blogging I can announce that we have taken on a couple of new markets, namely Hovingham and Burley in Wharfedale.

Hovingham Market is held at the village hall on the first Saturday of the month between 10.30 am and 2.30 pm, refreshments can be purchased in the village hall and I can definitely recommend the bacon butties!

Burley in Wharfedale Market is held in the Red Lion car park from 10.00 am on the second Sunday of each month. We initially attended the market in January but had to miss February, however we hope to return in March to make this one of our permanent markets.

I look forward to meeting you at the new markets.

 Ben
