Market Update

The recent good weather has been bringing people out to the Farmers markets and it was nice to see our regulars coming past for a chat and to have their bottles refilled. Since my last blog, we have been fortunate to acquire a place at the Otley Farmers Market. For those of you who are unfamiliar with the town, it is close to Leeds and on the flank of the Wharfe Valley. The town has held markets for over a 1000 years with the first being documented in 1222 when King Henry III granted the first Royal Charter. The Farmers Market is held on the last Sunday of the month in the Market Square between 9am and 1pm. The setting conjures up images from the television series All Creatures Great and Small.

Our product is not totally new to the market as Mark and Chris Stringer (Stringers Organic Flour and Potatoes) have kindly been selling our Natural Oil on their stall for some time.  Acquiring our own stall has allowed us to bring our full range of products along for sampling and hopefully for you to buy. I have to admit the response has been wonderful.  Having recently launched our new line of Deli oils and Dressings in York (Jen mentioned them in her recent blog) we are now rolling them out to the other markets. Please come along and have a taste, let us know what you think (good or bad!) as your comments are always of interest to us.

The York Farmers Market on the last Friday of this month (July) will be the setting of two episodes of the brand new prime time series for Channel Five called Street Market Chefs. The stalls holders have been asked to stay longer as they wish to film two episodes for the series. Amanda Lamb will be presenting the series, better known (to me at any rate...) as the Scottish Widow in the in a long-running series of advertisements for the investment company, but to most for the programmes A Place in the Sun and Market Kitchen. Why not come along and enjoy the day.

I hope to see you all there.
